After a 24 year career in sales and operations, I left AT&T. It was a good run solving problems, but it was time to end.
I had to let go of something familiar to take hold of something new.
I’m leaving the staff at Granger Community Church after 6 years of oversight with groups, care, and counseling. It has been a good run solving problems, but it’s time to end.
As the church goes down a new path with groups, care, and counseling, I’ll pursue counseling, mediation, and letter writing services in private practice. The transition is a positive one, already under way with the official date of March 31.
I am letting go of something familiar to take hold of something new.
During this process, here are a few things I found helpful from Henry Cloud’s book, Necessary Endings.
We let go of our children to take hold of enjoying them as adults. We let go of hurt and anger to make room for joy and peace. We let go of old behaviors to take hold of new ones.
It’s a busy season of planning and change, but I’m excited to see what’s to come.
